A MESSAGE TO OUR VALUED GUESTS

During these unprecedented times, the safety and security of our incredible team members and our valued guests remain our highest priority. We are adopting all the published standard procedures and following the guidelines of local and international health authorities to reduce exposure to and transmission of COVID-19.

Our team is committed to ensuring that your stay with us will be comfortable and that you will continue to enjoy the exceptional service that you have come to know, love and expect during your stay with us.

Travel Flexibility 

We also want to assure you that we understand the need for flexibility in planning travel during this time and want our guests to feel confident when booking. 

Deposits will therefore now be refunded for reservations cancelled up to 2 days prior to arrival for individual reservations booked directly with our office. The cancellation period for group reservations will be based on the agreed terms.  

If you have made your reservation through a third party agent or booking site, please contact them directly for their Covid-19 policies.  

Covid-19 Protocols

For your health and safety please take note of the below Covid-19 health protocols:

·         Temperature checks (infrared thermometer) are required for all guests, visitors and team members upon entry to the property. 

·         All entrants to the property will be required to sanitize their hands at all times.

·         The wearing of face masks and social distancing will be required by all guests while outside of their rooms and for all team members while on property.

·         Team members are required to wear appropriate PPE including masks, face shields and gloves depending on the tasks being carried out. 

·         Room attendants are not permitted to clean occupied rooms while guests are in the room. So please feel free to let us know when you will be out of your room or place the “out and about” sign on your door. 

·         Frequently touched areas and surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

·         If you feel unwell or are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, we kindly ask that you refrain from travelling during this time. 

·         During your stay with us, if you feel unwell or experience any COVID-19 symptoms, please refrain from leaving your room and contact front desk immediately.

Yellow Bird Hotel is an Approved Holding Hotel 

Yellow Bird Hotel is an approved holding hotel where guests can stay while they await the results of their second test.

Travel Protocols

All travellers to Barbados are required to:

 

·         Present proof of Covid-19 standard PCR tests taken 3 days prior to travel

·         Have the test taken at an accredited or recognised lab by a health care provider

·         Have a sample taken via nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab

 

Vaccinated Travellers will receive a 2nd COVID-19 standard PCR test on arrival at the airport and will be able to enjoy the property and Barbados in 1-2 days, depending on the return of the test results. Guests are required to remain in their room while awaiting the results of their second test. Property access is not permitted.

 

Unvaccinated Travellers will receive a 2nd COVID-19 standard PCR test 5 days after arrival and will be able to enjoy the property and Barbados in approximately 7-8 days (5 days quarantine plus return of test results). Guests are required to remain in their room while awaiting the results of their second test. Property access is not permitted.

 

Once you receive your negative test result from the Ministry of Health, which is provided also by a notification email, we ask that you forward a copy of your results to our team at the front desk at guestservices@yellowbirdbarbados.com

 

We cannot guarantee the return date and time of test results. After the return of your second test results, you will have full access to the property and you will be free to explore our beautiful island, subject to any restrictions in effect by the Government of Barbados.

 

Please also note that you may be required to share your temperature with health officials. Thermometers are available at a fee of US$10.

Quarantine Information

Housekeeping 

Housekeeping is not permitted to enter your room while you are on quarantine. However, you may request fresh linen when required. 

Dining

Room Service is available daily for breakfast and lunch. Dinner may be pre-ordered. Please click here  to view our menus. Groceries may also be ordered using online services.

PCR Testing

Testing is provided through the Ministry of Health. An approved taxi must be used to transport you to the testing centre at a fee. Testing which is required for travel will incur a fee. Please note that your passport and itinerary are required at the testing centre.

 

You may choose to arrange with a doctor to come to the hotel to administer the test. The fee is approximately US$175 per person and is subject to change without notice. At least 24 hours is required for the doctor to be arranged and appointments are subject to availability.

 

Our friendly front desk team is happy to assist with any of the arrangements relating to testing or transportation. We cannot guarantee the return date and time of test results.
